DAUGHTERS OF DIFFICULT ENVIRONMENTS MUFINDI GIVEN FIRE FIGHTING TRAINING

Mufindi district council in Iringa region In collaboration with the Youth Agency Mufindi (YAM) project, it has provided fire control training to girls from the difficult environment of the project from 16 villages in Ihanu, Mdabulo and Luhunga counties.



Speaking today during the training, the training instructor Walter Mushi said that the training will help the girls to help control the fire when they are in their activities of farming forest products like trees.


Because he said through the training, the participants have been given sufficient education to deal with fire disasters when they occur in their areas.


"Mufindi District is a district that is doing well in Tree Farming, so this training for these girls is one of the successes in dealing with fire disasters when they occur" he said



Through the training, the participants have learned how to put out various types of fire, including ground and aerial fire without causing more serious harm.



He said the Government in power under President Samia Suluhu Hassan along with the world is in the process of dealing with changes in the country's behavior caused by the speed of environmental destruction, including the Kichaa fire.


"These daughters of the YAM project will be good ambassadors in their villages and will be a great help in preventing fire disasters and for this the Mufindi Youth Agency Project is a great liberation"



While the participants of the training have praised the YAM project for appointing them to participate in the training and promising that the training will bring good results of fire control in their areas.


Mufindi District Head Saad Mtambule speaking about the benefits of the training and the efforts of the YAM project said the Government is proud to see these efforts.


Being a training for those girls will be very productive for the Mufindi district, which is mostly surrounded by government forests and private forests.


The project manager of YAM Zilipa Mgeni said that the training is given to 50 young people who have been divided into five groups of 10 girls in each group and they have been given different training.



Training offered includesThe method of planting trees and Good management, methods of harvesting and management of saw, wood processing, tree planting, charcoal making of Pumba trees and many other courses.

The Mufindi Youth Agency project is implemented by the Mufindi Council under the project of Foxes Community and Wildlife Conservation (FCWC) and YAM through the funding of Finland. It will be implemented in the counties of Luhunga, Ihanu and Mdabulo. 770 in 16 villages.
