The government of Luhunga Ward, located in Mufindi District, Iringa Region, is witnessing positive changes in the lives of young people, thanks to the patriotic efforts of Foxe's Company through the Youth Agency Mufindi (YAM) Project, implemented in collaboration with the Foxes’ Community and Wildlife Conservation (FCWC) organization.

This project focuses on empowering youth, especially those from vulnerable backgrounds, by providing entrepreneurship training, life skills, and psychological support.

Speaking to Matukio Daima TV, Luhunga Ward Councillor Adam Mgovano said the project has brought new hope to young people, including those with disabilities, by equipping them with knowledge that enables them to become economically self-reliant.

"In this ward of Luhunga, Mr. Foxes has left a significant mark by partnering with YAM to help youth acquire vocational training such as tailoring, motorcycle repair, carpentry, and more. These once-forgotten young people have now received startup capital and are capable of sustaining themselves," said Mgovano.

He also commended the government and the YAM initiative for sparking a developmental transformation in the lives of youth who were previously facing various challenges.

“We recognize the government's role in allowing stakeholders like Mr. Fox and his family to invest in our community.

In addition to the 700 youth who have benefited, there are also 276 young people with special needs who have been directly reached. It is my hope that these efforts will continue and reach even more youth,” he added.

The Youth Agency Mufindi (YAM) Project was initiated by the Mufindi District Council in collaboration with Foxes’ Community and Wildlife Conservation (FCWC), with funding from the Government of Finland through the Diaconess Foundation.

Aimed at empowering youth both economically and socially, the project is being implemented in the wards of Ihanu, Mdabulo, and Luhunga, and has already reached hundreds of young people, including 130 youth with disabilities.

Through training and psychological support, the project has helped reduce the risk of youth engaging in criminal activities while laying a foundation for a better and sustainable future.
