The MINISTRY of Health, Social Development, Gender, Elderly and Children has said that it has not issued an order for patients who are going to be treated at health centers or Government Hospitals to be forced to be vaccinated against COVID 19.

Kasangala said this today while answering the questions of journalists in the Iringa region who wanted to know if it is necessary for patients to be vaccinated with the COVID 19 vaccine before receiving medical care.
He said that the government has not forced the people to get the COVID-19 vaccine and that the vaccination is a person's choice, although it is a great help to him.
He said that the government has aimed to protect its citizens from the attack.
"We provide education to the community so that it realizes the importance of protecting oneself from the disease and this exercise is important and voluntary, we do not force it, but it is important that people take action," said Dr. Kasangala.
He has also asked citizens to provide information on health centers that refuse to provide services to patients who have not yet been vaccinated, as doing so is a legal offence.
"It is not the Government's instructions for health centers not to provide services to people who do not vaccinate," said Dr. Kasangala.
The Chief Medical Officer of Wa Iringa said that so far 50.2 percent have already been vaccinated in the Region.
"Until now we have reached 303,747 people who have been vaccinated equal to 50.2 percent where they expect to reach 70 percent by December.
The resident director of the United States Agency (USAID) Katesomvongsiri said that initially they provided 25 million dollars, and now they have added 42 million dollars to help Tanzania continue the fight against Covid-19. The director said that the money provided is help and not a loan.
