BENEFICIARIES of the Mufindi Youth Agency (YAM) project who are young people from vulnerable backgrounds in Mufindi district have said that the farming and animal husbandry training provided to them is a great step for their freedom.
The participants said this yesterday during the continuation of the ongoing 10-day training at the Orphanage Center in Igoda village, Mufindi district, Iringa region.
They said that before the training they did not plan to do animal husbandry farming or agriculture but now they are very confident they will go to bring an entrepreneurial revolution to their villages
However, the project implemented by Mufindi Council and Fox Community and wildlife conservation (FCWC) is a project that will reach more than 770 youths from Luhunga, Mdabulo and Ihanu counties and 16 villages will benefit from the project.
Speaking on behalf of the participants in the training, young people from vulnerable communities in Ihanu, Mdabulo and Luhunga wards Devotha Kigulu and Felix Kitinusa said the Youth Agency Mufindi project has been a great savior for them.
However they said the biggest challenge for them is how to get capital that will enable them to go to various production activities as well as the empowerment that the project will help, so they asked the Government to add more.
Because they said it is clear that through this training they will go on to set up large and large economic projects that will require more money and if they lack capital funds for Agriculture and animal husbandry they will not be able to take further steps.
