Member of Parliament for Special Seats in Iringa Region, Dr. Ritta Kabati, who is also an ambassador for people with disabilities in Parliament, has urged community members to come forward in large numbers to contribute equipment and other necessary support for people with disabilities.

She referenced the efforts of the Foxes Community and Wildlife Conservation organization and the Youth Agency Mufindi (FOXES YAM) project, which have been investing in youth with disabilities.

Dr. Ritta made these remarks today during a newspaper review discussion, where she praised Foxes Community and Wildlife Conservation and the FOXES YAM project for supporting 134 youth with disabilities by providing them with entrepreneurship training that helps them become self-reliant.

"When you reach out to people with disabilities in the community, you receive great blessings for yourself and your future generations.

As a government, we continue to appreciate various organizations that have been committed to supporting people with disabilities, especially youth.

In our Iringa region, there is still a great need for equipment and various contributions to enable people with disabilities to receive medical care and special needs support.

Even a small contribution can significantly help the fund," she said.

Dr. Ritta also stated that the ministry is well-prepared to continue providing assistance to people with disabilities.

She confirmed that the government has already allocated funds to develop and improve infrastructure used by people with disabilities.

"The sixth-phase government, through the ministry in charge of this sector, has been doing a great job.

This is due to the government's sufficient budget allocation to ensure that schools and other infrastructure are improved and equipped with special facilities.

Additionally, teachers who can provide education to people with disabilities have been made available," she added.

She emphasized the importance of efforts made by various organizations in offering support to people with disabilities, which contributes to community development and ensures that people with disabilities gain recognition and value in society.

"We have been receiving various contributions from institutions, which have greatly supported the progress of this ministry.

Through these contributions, we have been able to purchase prosthetic limbs, which have been a great help to people with disabilities.

Additionally, we have already distributed some of these contributions to the regional hospital for medical treatment, and some individuals have already started undergoing medical examinations," she explained.

Dr. Ritta also highlighted the achievements resulting from donations made by organizations and the community in supporting activities within the ministry and the efforts shown by these organizations in supporting the government.

"So far, we have established teams for people with disabilities, and we have even participated in basketball competitions outside Iringa Region, where we returned with victory.

Our football team is now preparing for upcoming matches. To support this, we will set up a regional fund, and anyone willing to contribute should not hesitate, as their support will continue to help people with disabilities," she noted.

In another development, the MP commended the efforts of President Samia Suluhu Hassan, particularly in the water sector, for fulfilling her promises to ease the burden of water collection, especially for women.

She stated that in many regions, the issue of water scarcity has become a thing of the past, and in Iringa, areas that previously faced water challenges no longer experience such difficulties.
