It has been reported that out of 86% of ideas for development projects developed by young people in Tanzania, only 10% of those ideas have been implemented and brought success to those who came up with the ideas.
Being a large part of the ideas that have been developed has been unsuccessful due to the characters' emergence and ideas of projects that they cannot control beyond the visualization of passionate feelings from others.
Giving entrepreneurship training today at Fox Igoda Mufindi Hall, Youth Agency Mufindi (YAM) youth empowerment training facilitator John Kalolo said that the ambition of some developers of development projects has led to the projects not succeeding due to lack of and appropriate operational objectives of such projects.
So, he said young people who need to be successful in project design and project writing must first be motivated to manage and implement the relevant projects by prioritizing the project management talent and not by imitating others.
"In real life most successful people are those who do activities that they love from the heart and not those who do projects that imitate others or go and write a project write up that you are not able to do and believe you will fail to get far in your project" he said.
Governments and various stakeholders have been allocating funds for youth empowerment and among those funds include funds provided by district councils in the country through its local collections, where youth have been allocated 4 percent out of 10 percent provided by councils in the country.
So if young people rush to write projects or start better groups as long as they get the money that is the beginning of the groups or projects dying before they get far.
He also said that some young people have failed to succeed in life due to the introduction of superstitions, even some of them relying on the forces of darkness and finding themselves falling into the hands of the law by being deceived by doctors (witchdoctors) into committing murderous acts or evil deeds in society to get rich quick.
Zilipa Mgeni, YAM's project manager, said the aim of the training was to empower more than 770 youths, including 150 children from the three wards of Ihanu, Igoda and Luhunga, all of which will be connected to the 16 villages of the project.
Participants in the training Kelvin Mnyamka and Zelida Deule apart from praising the YAM project for joining them in the project still said the training is a great opportunity for them to move forward in entrepreneurial activities as they were previously behind due to being dominated by misconceptions.
